Marvin Gaye & Tammi Terrell
United
Original Release: 1967
Synopsis
The first of three duet albums to feature Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell (followed by You’re All I Need in 1968 and Easy a year later), United was released in August 1967 on Motown’s Tamla label. Featuring the hits ‘Your Precious Love’ and ‘If I Could Build My Whole Life Around You’, the album includes their most famous duet, ‘Ain’t No Mountain High Enough’. Marvin Gaye withdrew from music for two years following Tammi’s tragically premature death at the age of 24, to emerge in 1971 with the groundbreaking What’s Goin On.
