Jackson 5
Maybe Tomorrow
Original Release: 1972
Synopsis
Originally released on 12th April 1972, Maybe Tomorrow was the Jackson 5’s fourth studio LP. Featuring the hit title track (which was later covered by UB40 in 1987), as well as ‘Never Can Say Goodbye’, which has subsequently been recorded by artists diverse as Gloria Gaynor, Isaac Hayes, James Brown and The Communards, the album has also provided a source for some significant samples, such as Ghostface Killah’s use of ‘Maybe Tomorrow’ for his 1996 track ‘All That I Got Is You’, as well as Puff Daddy’s 1997 hit ‘It's All About the Benjamins’ and Chris Brown’s ‘So Glad’, both of which used sampled parts of the album’s ‘It's Great to Be Here’.
