Synopsis

Straddling a line between arch pop and experimental rock, Original Soundtrack (which isn’t a soundtrack at all) features 10cc’s best known hit with Eric Stewart and Graham Gouldman’s ‘I’m Not In Love’, the band’s second UK No 1 (it reached No 2 in America). Released in 1975, reaching No 4 in the UK and a highly respectable No 15 in the States, the album also produced the jaunty single ‘Life Is A Minestrone’. Charles Shaar Murray best summed up the album in his NME review, “Ain’t no getting round it: 10cc make brilliant records”, and according to Rolling Stone “10cc's Original Soundtrack is a fascinating record”.
